The
first step to setting up Eudora is to copy it to your computer.
-
Place
your mouse cursor on the picture just below where it says "Step 1"
and click on it.
-
After
clicking on it a screen might come up that says "What would you like
to do with this file?", highlight "Save this program to disk" and
click "OK".
-
The
next window that appears should show your C: drive and its folders.
If it does not say "(C:)" to the left of "Save in:", then click
on the button with the arrow pointing down and find where it says
"(C:)" and click on it. Now find this icon to the top right of the
window: "
" This is the "Create a new folder" icon, click on it.
-
After
doing this a new folder should appear with highlighted text that says
"New Folder", just type "Eudora" in its place.
-
After
typing "Eudora" hit enter. Now double click on the folder you just
created and everything in the window should disappear.
-
Now
click on "Save".
-
It
will show you the file transferring to your computer. After it is
done you will probably see a window come up that says "Download Complete",
click OK.
-
Now
that you have downloaded Eudora it's time to get it running correctly.
-
The
first thing you want to do is go to your desktop (the screen Windows
boots up to) and double-click "My Computer".
-
Now
double-click on the drive letter you put Eudora under (probably C:).
-
After
doing this you should see a bunch of folders and files, look for the
on that looks like this:
-
After
you've found that folder, double-click on it.
-
Now
you should see a single file called "Eudor152.exe", double-click on
it.
-
This
unpacks the rest of the Eudora files, it will bring up a black screen
with some writing, just give it a second to unpack the files and then
close the window.
-
Now
you should see all the Eudora files, find the one that says "Eudora.exe"
under it and place your mouse cursor on it. Click once with the RIGHT
mouse button.
-
This
should bring up a tiny window. Click on "Send To" and then click on
"Desktop as shortcut".
-
After
doing this, get back to your desktop, you should see the Eudora shortcut
we just made, double click on it.
-
A
settings window should automatically open. Where it says "POP Account"
type in "(your username)@ees.eesc.com" this will be your email address.
Beneath where it says "Real name" is optional, whatever you type in
this space will be seen by everyone you send mail to.
-
After
typing in your email address, to the left click on "Personal Information".
By clicking this it should add an option that says "Return address",
just type in the same as you did under "POP Account".
-
After
doing this click "OK".
-
Now
your ready to send and receive mail.
-
To
check your mail, click on "File" and then "Check Mail" (NOTE: you
must be connected to the internet whenever you read or send mail).
-
When
it asks for your password, use the same as you do to connect to the
internet.
-
You're
all set. Have fun!
